You will mainly need boxing gloves and shin guards for most classes at SMT. Mouth guards and groin protection are also recommended for more advanced sparring classes.

Our muay Thai classes typically involve a warm-up, skill drills, bag work, pad work, technical sparring, and clinching. You will learn the basic techniques and movements of Muay Thai and gradually progress to more advanced levels.

Sparring is a key component of muay thai training. Our students first learn proper technique, and then learn how to apply that technique with light contact, flow sparring. Eventually members can join the more advanced students and fighters in higher paced rounds.

As often as possible! The more time and effort you invest, the more you'll get out of your training. It's generally recommended to train in Muay Thai at least 2-3 times per week to see progress and improve your skills. However, the frequency of training depends on your personal goals and schedule.

Muay Thai training is definitely suitable for children! It's a great way for the kids to have fun while getting a workout, learning to defend themselves, and building confidence. That being said it does require focus, discipline, and the willingness to work hard and listen to instruction.
